This Privacy Notice describes how Belmont Knight & Associates (“Belmont Knight,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit belmontknight.com, use our client or attorney portal, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).
Who we are
Belmont Knight & Associates is a Wyoming-based legal services platform headquartered at 30 N. Gould St., Sheridan, WY 82801. We connect individuals and businesses with vetted attorneys and provide software to manage matters, documents, communications, and payments.

This notice applies to personal information we process when you browse our marketing site, create an account, post a matter, apply as an attorney, exchange messages with attorneys or staff, upload documents, sign agreements, or make or receive payments through the Services.
It does not cover websites we do not operate, communications you have directly with an attorney outside the platform, or the internal practices of the third-party service providers linked below (each of whom maintains its own privacy notice).
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information. Name, email address, phone number, password (hashed), profile photo, role (client / attorney / employee / admin), employer or firm, and licensure details for attorneys (bar number, jurisdictions, practice areas).
- Matter and case information. Descriptions, documents, exhibits, deadlines, budgets, and messages you exchange through the Services. This may include information about third parties you submit as part of a matter.
- Communications. Emails to and from support@belmontknight.com and authorized attorney mailboxes are ingested into the platform for record-keeping and BCC’d to an internal audit inbox.
- Payment information. When you pay for a matter or a marketing subscription we collect billing details through a PCI-compliant processor; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Device and usage data. IP address, browser fingerprint (user agent, language), referrer, pages viewed, actions taken, and diagnostic logs.

How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Operate, secure, and improve the Services;
- Match clients with appropriate attorneys, route messages, and share documents inside a matter;
- Verify attorney credentials and prevent unauthorized access;
- Process payments, escrow, and payouts;
- Send transactional notifications (matter updates, signatures, invoices) and, with your consent, marketing communications;
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our User Agreement;
- Aggregate and de-identify data for analytics and research.
Your rights & choices
You can update your account information in your portal profile, adjust notification preferences in Settings, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the footer of those messages.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights described below. To exercise a right, email privacy@belmontknight.com from the address on your account and describe the request.
State-specific rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to access, delete, correct, and port their personal information, as well as to opt out of certain processing. Belmont Knight does not discriminate against users who exercise these rights.

Add jurisdiction-specific supplemental notices (California CCPA, Colorado Privacy Act, Connecticut CTDPA, Virginia CDPA, Utah UCPA) reviewed by counsel here. Include categories of personal information collected in the last 12 months, business/commercial purposes, and sensitive personal information categories.Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Matter records and communications are retained for the period required by professional conduct rules of the relevant jurisdictions.

Personal information is stored on Microsoft Azure infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed. Documents are stored in Azure Blob Storage with per-matter access control.
Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact privacy@belmontknight.com.
International transfers
The Services are operated from the United States. If you access them from another country, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as an in-portal banner or email).
